Here is the second installment of classic writing from my childhood… #1: Tim’s English (A Poem) Under a small, cold winter moon, fields and hills gleam bald and white as eggs. #2: What School Means To Me School means a lot to me. It means work but so what. I don’t care if I haveContinue reading “A Bit Of Nostalgia – Volume 2”

A Bit Of Nostalgia – Volume 1
If you have ever wondered what I wrote about as a child, you are in luck. I recently went through a tub of my old papers that my mom saved and found some fairly entertaining compositions. If you have never wondered what I wrote about as a child, you are in the majority, but I’mContinue reading “A Bit Of Nostalgia – Volume 1”
Is Cynicism A Virtue?
When did cynicism become a virtue? How did we get to a place where being cynical, jaded, distrustful, and pessimistic is so widely accepted and often embraced as a sign of intelligence and maturity? Why is a person who trusts others, takes people at their word, and is willing to extend grace seen as naïve,Continue reading “Is Cynicism A Virtue?”
It Will Never Be Enough
You know that voice in your head? The voice that says you are not good enough. The voice that makes you feel guilty for not praying enough. K-12 Meat Co.
This place always creeps me out a bit when I drive past it. What exactly is a K-12 meat company? Is it the place where they send the really bad kids that the school systems can’t handle? I’m not sure I want to know the truth behind this place after all.

How in the world could anyone pass up such a fantastic deal!? Buy 33 and get 3 free? They were practically giving the stuff away! I don’t even have a cat and I almost couldn’t pass it up. Almost.
Meet Me In The Feference Section
If you ever go to the thrift store by the interstate in Conway, MO to look for a reference book, be advised – this is as close as you’ll find. But really, what good seller of used books doesn’t have a “Feference” section? Perhaps they should have consulted the Fictionary for the proper spelling.
Cracker Barrel Dessert Menu
These dessert names at Cracker Barrel have got to be some of the longest in the history of dessert names. By the time I got done reading the names of the desserts, I was hungry enough to eat another meal.
30 Is The New…60?
I’ve heard people say “30 is the new 20”, but apparently AARP and Beltone never got the memo. I’m not too sure how true that saying is, but apparently to these two companies, 30 is the new 55 or 60. I could take it personally, but I prefer to view it as being recruited. IContinue reading “30 Is The New…60?”
